Netherland Dwarf www.freewebs.com/hertfordshirerabbits/Netherland%20Dwarf%20Rabbit%20-%20Cuthbert%20-%20(black%20otter)%20-%20Devereux%20Stud.jpgThe Netherland Dwarf is one of the smallest breeds of rabbit in the world and is said to be originated from Holland. A well bred Netherland Dwarf will weigh around 2lbs, but many can weight quite a bit more, especially if they haven't been bred to the standard. The size of a particular Netherland Dwarf doesn't matter if it is a pet. The ears are a major aspect of the Netherland Dwarf, they generally have very small erect ears. A well bred Netherland Dwarf will have ears around 2 inches in length, although many have much longer ears, if not bred to the standard, but like the weight, ear length doesn't matter if you keeping them as a pet. Netherland Dwarves are usually quite shy and timid, the majority don't like to be held and cuddled much. Some like to be petted when they are in their cages or on the floor. The temperment varies from Netherland Dwarf to Netherland Dwarf though. They have the same diet as other rabbits, because of their small size, they eat a little less then larger rabbits. Owners need to give them their food per Kg of their weight. You can check your bag of rabbit food to see how much you should be feeding them or find more information on google. Article by Grace

Hi Grace - that is a great article and just what I was mentioning about in the ideas collumn. Thanks so much for info from someone who loves em but doesn't know too much about specifics of breeds. And the pics from you and James are just fabulous - such gorgeous bunnies - pretty perfect! Great stuff - thanks for those posts!
